Visit the Paper Cutting Art Craft Workshop

On a quiet afternoon, as soon as we walked into the DAJIDALI paper-cutting studio, we started a journey of exploration about paper-cutting crafts.
The walls of the studio are covered with all kinds of exquisite paper-cutting works, including lifelike flowers, birds, fish and insects, vivid characters, and mythological scenes full of stories. Each work seems to tell the ingenuity and love of life of paper-cutting artists.
Master Peng, a contracted paper-cutting artist, is sitting at the table, holding a small pair of scissors in her hand, concentrating on cutting on a piece of red paper. I saw his fingers flexibly turning the paper, and the scissors shuttled freely between the papers. After a while, a beautiful pattern gradually emerged.
Master Peng told me that paper-cutting seems simple, but it actually requires great patience and concentration. From designing patterns, choosing paper, to cutting, every step cannot tolerate any carelessness. Moreover, paper-cutting is not only a handicraft, but also a cultural inheritance and expression.
This visit made me deeply feel that paper-cutting, an ancient art form, is blooming with new brilliance in modern society with its unique charm.
(Master Peng shows us her unique skills in making translucent paper-cut artworks, such as underwater fish and patterns inside glass vases.)
