Today, I stepped into the door of the Mortise and Tenon Museum with great anticipation, and started a wonderful journey through time and space.
As soon as I entered the museum, the first thing that caught my eye was a huge mortise and tenon structure model, which attracted the attention of every visitor with its exquisite structure and unique form. This model seems to be a silent witness of history, quietly telling us the long history of mortise and tenon craftsmanship.
Walking slowly along the corridor of the exhibition hall, one piece of exquisite mortise and tenon works after another appeared in front of me. There are simple and elegant furniture with rigorous structure and smooth lines. Every mortise and tenon combination is just right, showing the superb wisdom and exquisite craftsmanship of the ancients; there are magnificent architectural models, flying eaves and brackets, which are staggered and orderly, making people sigh at the important role of mortise and tenon in the field of architecture; there are also small and exquisite handicrafts with ingenious conception and ingenuity, which are very attractive.
During the visit, I not only appreciated the external beauty of the mortise and tenon works, but also had a deeper understanding of their inner mysteries. Mortise and tenon, as a connection method without nails and glue, relies on the ingenious combination of tenons and mortises between wood to achieve the perfect unity of stability and beauty. This unique skill contains the philosophical idea of "yin and yang complement each other and harmonious coexistence" in Chinese traditional culture, and embodies the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.
The museum also has an interactive experience area where visitors can try the splicing of mortise and tenon by themselves. I participated in it with great interest, picked up the wood and tools, and followed the instructions step by step. In this process, I deeply felt the difficulty of mortise and tenon craftsmanship, and I admired the craftsmen who inherited and carried forward this skill even more.
When I walked out of the Mortise and Tenon Museum, my heart was full of emotion. This visit not only allowed me to appreciate the charm of mortise and tenon craftsmanship, but also gave me a deeper understanding and love of Chinese traditional culture. I believe that the ancient skill of mortise and tenon will be revitalized and continue to be passed on.
